Super awesome work Growler USA!!
While I’m not a lawyer I can say KegMetrics tracks every keg’s location and retains a history of who has taken possesion any particualr keg. We believe this should substantially improve the case of ownership of a keg, including when the keg was delivered to a particular establishment.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m so happy Growler USA is doing this and I also hope it’s something we in the industry can learn from. It’s easy to provide ledgers proving the ownerships of kegs. Kegs are capital assets owned by the breweries and on-loan to the purchaser of the beer.
In all honesty the city of Aurora is just plain wrong, the only things they can collect on those kegs are the deposits previously collected on the kegs and only after they are returned.
